Opening scene= Underneath a coffinless corpse regrows from its decomposed position. It forms its muscle, fat, tissue, veins and skin whilst underneath and surrounded by soil. The soil provides this growth and as it does so it disappears from over head the corpse, after it is a fully formed body of an old man of ninety years of age, a hole is left from its position of six feet under to ground level. Keane is a dumpy man physically. He is wearing CAT work boots, blue jeans and a red and black padded shirt. He is twenty five years of age. He is of low intelligence and is an emotional man which he wears on a face sculpted for acting and expression. His face is soft in expression and has plain corpulent features. (more…)

Story by Darragh Cotter

Sammy woke up groggily, the last thing he remembered was really regretting he hadn’t looked both ways crossing the road. He looked around the room, it was like a doctor’s waiting room but more austere. The walls were too white, the chairs very uncomfortable and the only magazines there were National Geographic. He got up and flicked through the magazines. They were all from the sixties. With a sigh Sammy sat down. At this stage Sammy had come to the conclusion that being hit by the car had been slightly fatal. (more…)

Right, just a little something to get the ball rolling. The CWMIC Blog is officially up and running. Over the next couple of months this blog aims to post poems, stories, film and dramatic scripts from the Creative Writing Course as well as providing info on any upcoming literary events, competitions etc. A tentative class list has been drawn up although the submission deadline has been extended another month. Watch this space for further updates.
